We came during the off-peak season, so the service was slow, and the resort was quiet. The room was not maintained properly - it was not very clean. The worst was the bed bugs! Yes, bed bugs! My husband and I had the bites all over our bodies! On the beach and in the water were full of dead corals. The water is too shallow to swim unless you walk for a considerable distance towards the ocean. You'd have to walk to the hotel next door to the 5-star hotel to have a proper swim and snorkel. However, the staff members, especially the water activity staff, were friendly and hospitable, that's why I did not give a 1 star.
Overall Experience: The service from all the staff is a 10/10.. But I had to give 2 stars for overall because of the room and resort condition. Island condition, 7/10: Quite a lot of death corals around. Have to becareful when walking barefoot Room, 1/10: It is actually quite sad. My friends, their room had drainage smell everywhere. Good thing the staff change the room. But out of all of the room issues, the most serious one is water crisis. Suddenly got water, suddenly no water. Imagine, bathing half way.. Water no more.. Stress I tell you. Resort condition, 2/10: The resort looks rundown in some areas. And some rooms have electric plugs got issue. The Swimming pool, time to time is cleanned, so is good. But most scariest for me is the big spiders and their nets in a lot of places.. Especially that coconut tree... I scared.. Food, 8/10: The food to me compare to the standards in Terengganu, is actually good. My favourite will be food from Breakfast and Dinner. Inyl down side is the amount is made according to the number of guest. So do come early so you can have more choices. Snorkeling, 6/10: I think is okay. There are blue corals. One the snorkeling spot my friends went had airplane inside the sea. Service, 10/10: The good part that helps offset a lot of the bad feelings in this resort is the staff service. They are very helpful. For Food part, If you really like one of the dish, you can request them to refill for you. We ask for a guide from the reception to find the blue sand. The two brother brought us to the location. And even though there is no blue sand, they went down into the sea to bring the rock containing the blue planktons up for us to see. Thank you. Overal Rating: 4.5/10. Food & Service is good. Room, Resort and Island is bad. Recommendations: If you plan to come here because of budget reason. Please lower your expectations on the bed and resort condition. If you have more budget to spend, consider other resorts like Summer Bay.
This place is so beautiful. Me and my family had a great time here. we stay here not at a peak hour. After school holiday. Service - Very good External resort - so beautiful Rooms - Big and very specious but need to improve the cleanliness. Water pressure is very good. Food - Very good. They serve us delicious food everyday. View - This is a hidden gem. I hope that they have enough funds to maintain and upgrade their place. Overall, this place is amazing. For the price you pay.
D'coconut was our best place to go when we were in Malaysia. We went back in April 2023, the place is getting worse and worse with poor management from the owner and no maintenance. It was a beautiful resort in paradise. The resort is just now getting close to a wreck. Personel is nice but no experience in hospitality business to the standard shown on the website. What a pity to see such beautiful resort falling apart. The beach and the island are still absolutely beautiful. But better to stay at a different hotel for the price. Unless the owner decides to create a real restaurant, a nice bar on the beach, a nice pool, refurbish all the rooms and chalet. and then we will come back for the same price.
Dcoconut Came here for 3D2N trip, full in package (purchased from holidaygogo) Pros: Close to the beach yet far enough for a quiet and peaceful sleep from the waves. Food here is superb, very tasty and is in wide varieties. Great location with sea breeze, very comforting. Cons: The beach is beautiful with crystal clear water BUT the shore is filled with dead corals, making it painful and difficult to walk towards the sea. The restaurant is unfortunately filled with flies and mosquitoes, making it difficult to enjoy your meal here while getting rid of the flies. The rooms and pool here are quite run down in the results of lack of maintenance. The toilet is rusty, the pool is filled with some algae, the room is dimmed, etc. Room and compound wasn't maintained properly. Recommendation: Buy a wearable shoe for swimming in the ocean. Advise to get your own snorkel mask because you will need to pay RM12 a day for a set of masks. Really hope the management do something about the dead corals and flies. Scooping the dead corals up and install something to get rid of the flies. Don't think will visit here again, to those surveying resorts to stay in Lang Tengah, go for Summer Bay, I been to all resorts on the island and the best still is Summer Bay. Spend a bit more money for comfort and enjoyment since you are on a holiday trip.
