Excellent beach. The hotel is OK. Food is acceptable, given the economic situation in Cuba. I would come back. My kid went to the kids' club a lot because she said she's bored. They also have cutest mini farm with rabbits, guinea pigs, geese, etc.
Honest review - from Niagara Falls area We really enjoyed our time here. The beach is beautiful - plenty of little shaded cabanas you can spend the day in. The staff were great. We felt no pressure to tip at all. We went with very low expectations for the food.... And we were surprised. Food was good, it does get repetitive after a few days however you will not go hungry. We brought some small snacks with us which held us over throughout the day if needed (Pringles, cliff bars, protein bars). Our building had no hot water for 2 days, however after spending the day at the beach and in the ocean a cool rinse actually felt pretty nice. You can tell that the resort was hit hard by a hurricane a while back, but the grounds workers and gardeners keep this place in top shape working long days in the hot sun to keep the resort beautiful. We read all the bad reviews before coming. We knew what to expect. We shared many conversations with other travellers who had the same thought as us - what are all these people complaining about?!?!? No shortages for towels, water, food, drinks... It was a great vacation and we would come back!
This hotel was much better than what I was expecting for Cuba, most of the servers and staff were friendly and had great uplifting energies. Money is a huge motivator, it was well worth the cost! The Spanish coffee and the beaches were the highlights of my trip, there’s ample shaded loungers on the beach for everyone, more family oriented and older crowd. It’s a larger resort so if you have accessibility concerns make sure you get a room by the lobby. The French a la carte was probably the best of the bunch, Japanese was far from authentic and very mediocre but I did love the evening shows and dances! Be sure to book the free 30 minute catamaran rides and peddle boats, snorkelling is $20 per person!
Me and my girlfriend had such a memorable experience at the Pullman this past week. I have too many good things to say about this resort! My girlfriend and I are a younger couple, both 27 and met a pleasant mix of people our age and above. There truly is a space for everybody here; families, couples, the collections side for those who enjoy a more private experience, etc. We had an ocean front room that was incredible, and the staff did a great job keeping it tidy for us during our stay. Which is a good Segway into speaking on the Staff... I couldn't imagine going somewhere and feeling more welcomed. The service was great, the food was great (we didn't experience much of the shortages we heard about!), the shows were a riot, and I struggle to describe how kind everybody is. Also, the disco at night is a blast! We will absolutely be going back to the Pullman again 😁
Would not recommend this resort. The beach is beautiful but everything else was terrible. The resort is run down and in need of some serious attention. There are holes in the ceiling, broken elevators, tons of missing pool tiles, etc. The rooms were not very clean with bedsheets covered in stains and housekeeping skipping some days (so we were also running out of necessities). Our building had no hot water for days, so we were showering in ice cold water. There are a few carts around the resort and one pool bar, but all of them seem to be closed early. The pool bar was not open a single time during our 7 day trip. The lobby is really the only place to hang out, as there are no tables or places that are lit up around the resort at night. Many of the bar staff were not pleasant, the drinks were terrible and they were constantly running out of alcohol. Most of the alcohol was not included and was considered premium, which worked out to around $20 Canadian per drink. We travelled with a group and one of the couples was given a room at the complete opposite end of the resort, with very little help to accommodate them to move closer. The resort said that they were full however we never saw many people, and it seemed to be more of a staffing issue. The food was mediocre and the exact same thing was served every day. Everywhere we went the staff expected a tip and made it very obvious if they were displeased that you didn’t tip every single time you got anything. The drinks were served in small plastic cups so you needed a refill every few minutes. We came over the Christmas break and had cold and rainy weather (not their fault), so there was very little to do.
