Heaven 5*
Many people say that the sunset in Ia, Santorini is the most beautiful in Greece. While I agree that Ia's sunset is stunning, I personally believe that the sunset at Analipsi Beach in Chersonissos, Crete is even better! The way the sun's colors blend into the sea is truly captivating. The beach itself is pleasant, great for a leisurely stroll or sunbathing, and the water is decent, though not crystal clear. However, the real highlight is the breathtaking sunset, made even more enjoyable by the nearby cafes and restaurants.
We walked from Gouves to Analipsi Beach, taking our time and enjoying the journey. It took us about an hour and a half to reach our destination.
I've heard that this beach in Crete is considered one of the top ten due to its natural rock formations. However, swimming here may not be the best idea unless you're willing to risk getting hurt, especially on a slightly stormy day. There are some fancy lounges and beds available for around 6€ for two lounges and one umbrella. I also found some really pretty stones here.
The beach is lovely with soft sand. We spotted it during our hotel transfer and made a plan to check it out. It's easy to get to with plenty of parking available. The only downside is that the first few meters of the ocean floor are rocky, which can make getting in and out a bit tricky.
