It was amazing, even though we didn't go on the perfect day. The beach was very nice and we had a great time snorkeling with my friends. Just be careful of the large ants in the BBQ area.
Iluka Beach, situated between Captains Beach and Greenpatch within Booderee National Park, is renowned for its pristine bushland and clear blue waters. The beach offers parking and picnic amenities, making it a popular spot in Jervis Bay for birdwatching and further exploration towards Green Patch.
It's a beautiful spot that we visited when Hyams Beach was full. You'll need to pay to enter the national park, with a 2-day pass costing $13 (as of Jan 2024). There are toilets located at the north end, but parking is limited. Be cautious of the aggressive giant red bull ants that can deliver a painful sting or bite. However, the sand is stunningly white and soft, and the small waves make it perfect for children. There are no shops, so be sure to bring your own food and drinks. I suggest bringing a shade tent or umbrella, and avoid sitting near the bushes or trees due to the presence of ants.
This beach is great for swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing.
We drove from Yamba to this stunning beach, which is about a half-hour away. It's located on the opposite breakwater from Yamba. The beach is spacious and stretches far, with soft white sand.
