Bondi Beach is a stunning destination that tends to get quite crowded. However, its golden sands and lively atmosphere make it an absolute must-visit for beach lovers exploring Sydney.
Being an Australian (although I reside in Melbourne), I must say that this beach is truly delightful! It is definitely a must-visit destination in your lifetime. However, it can get quite crowded, so it's not the ideal beach for everyday visits. Nevertheless, it offers a serene atmosphere perfect for leisurely walks. Just keep in mind that there are numerous other stunning beaches in Australia. While this beach may be one of the most popular ones, there are plenty others that I would consider more picturesque and less crowded.
I caught the 333 bus to Bondi Beach. The beach was quite crowded, but there was enough room to lay down. I would suggest reapplying sunscreen as needed. The lifeguards were constantly occupied, ensuring swimmers stayed away from the rip currents. Occasionally, the waves would crash on you approximately every 8-10 seconds. If you plan on venturing out to where the waves break, you should be a strong swimmer.
Many people claim that Bondi Beach is overhyped and too popular, but they are mistaken. It is a truly pleasant location with a fantastic atmosphere encompassing the sand, waves, scenery, nearby shops, and the diverse crowd that gathers to relax or engage in physical activities. It is simply an incredible spot to spend time.
The beach is great for surfing, but it tends to get crowded. It's not recommended for kids to swim due to rough conditions. To be honest, it's a bit overrated. It's not terrible, but it receives more attention than it deserves considering Australia has numerous breathtaking beaches that go unnoticed.
