visit spot." "The beach is absolutely stunning, we went in early October and it wasn't too crowded. The weather was perfect and the scenery was unique. There's a beach bar that provides sunbeds, umbrellas, and affordable food and drinks. If you're in Salina, you have to check out this beach."
The Spiaggia dello Scario is a must-visit for nature and swimming enthusiasts. On calm days, it feels like swimming in a natural pool with crystal clear water that deepens to a beautiful blue the further out you go. The volcanic base causes the ground to drop quickly from 1m to about 10m depth, and even at midday, the sun's rays illuminate the sea floor. You can spot a variety of sea creatures in the clear water. The beach is made of stones, which can get hot during the day and make access to the sea a bit challenging, but it is still possible to walk barefoot. I recommend wearing shoes to the water's edge and then going in barefoot. You can rent water mattresses and sun umbrellas, and the Maracaraibo bar offers high-quality food and drinks, some made with veggies from their own garden. The staff is friendly and eco-friendly, making efforts to reduce plastic use. The beach is also kept clean. I highly recommend this beach as one of the most beautiful spots in Salina for swimming and relaxation.
This beach is truly unique and secluded, accessed by stairs along the cliff. The large pebble rocks make it challenging to relax on a beach chair, so the beach bar provides big air mattresses instead. This is why I jokingly say everyone looks like sea lions here. You can even bring the mattresses into the sea with you. It's a bit tricky to enter the water without shoes, but not impossible. Like my wife, you may not come out gracefully! The beach bar offers drinks and antipasto, and rents out the mattresses for 5 euros each. There are plenty of shaded areas in the afternoon on one side of the beach.
While the beach is very beautiful, it may be challenging for those who are not physically fit or have trouble with balance. It might be a good idea to stay at the beach hut and enjoy lunch and a beer instead. The water is stunning but can be rough at times. The rocky beach can be difficult to navigate, so consider bringing a blow-up bed for lounging. Getting in and out of the water can be tricky due to the small boulders, so having a helping hand from friends can be a lifesaver. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially when it comes to fixing deflating air beds. Don't miss out on the beautiful water and rocks, but be mindful of your abilities if you're looking for a relaxing day of lounging and swimming.
The walk down to this tiny, secluded beach is quite steep. Be cautious of the large rocks on the beach and stick to the wooden planks if possible. Inflatable beds are available for rent for lounging. The water is crystal clear and the views are breathtaking. There is a small sandwich shop at the top of the beach that is perfect for grabbing a bite to eat and a beer.
