Fantastično!
Beach reachable only when the gates are open (inquire online when), you can park for free in the guarded car park and walk for about 20 minutes to get to the beach. We caught a not too clear day, but the beach is spectacular, very scenic and generally quiet due to its vastness. It was not possible to visit the castle, but you can see it from the sea. It is possible to see the perimeter of Caligula's ancient summer villa inside the water. Sandy beach full of shells, you can touch it for a good 100m.
A magical place to preserve. The dunes frame kilometers of beach and crystal clear water. Unfortunately, depending on the storm surges, there is a lot of plastic and dirt on the sand. A protected area should be created because the site is also worthy from an archaeological point of view.
Beautiful long beach. Clean water. Reachable after an easy walk on a dirt road that starts from the parking area. Parking is free but limited for cars (there is always room for motorbikes) inside a fenced area with a gate. The walk is approximately 1 km to reach the sea at the mouth of the Astura river. Then continuing to the right in the pine forest you reach the area with the ruins of the Tower and the other branch of the beach, a little wild, with light sand and enclosed by coastal dunes. Inside it is written that it is a military area. It's worth the .... walk to reach it 😉. There are no services or tourist facilities so you need to bring water and everything you may need with you. In the pine forest they have placed containers to leave the waste in a fairly orderly manner after the day at the beach
I had wanted to visit this beach for a long time, so expectations were very high and I must say that they were not disappointed at all. We start with a large "FREE" car park (A TRUE RARITY), then a beautiful and comfortable walk (a bit long to tell the truth, about 20 minutes) first along the river, then a beautiful little beach and then finally crossing a beautiful Pine forest. You arrive at the tower with its Roman ruins and a long beach on the right with transparent water and a sandy, sloping seabed. The only flaw is that you can't get close to the tower even to take photos. On a positive note, the beach was manned by the civil protection rescue team who had to whistle continuously to prevent swimmers from sneaking into the fenced perimeter. I would add that the municipality has placed several bins for (separated) rubbish and people have used them without leaving any dirt around. A wonderful day!
