Orange Bay

My husband and I visited the Royalton Hideaway for our honeymoon in late October and stayed for 10 days. We had an incredible time and enjoyed every moment of our stay! Some of the highlights included our room, which had a beautiful ocean view, the bartenders at the hideaway bar (especially Owayne, who had amazing energy throughout our entire stay), the deck hands who always kept the pools clean, the remarkable food at all the restaurants, and the expansive resort grounds that were perfect for exploring. We also loved having access to the entire resort while staying on the hideaway side. During our stay on Halloween, the resort organized an incredible evening show and a really cool haunted house. The amount of effort put into these events did not go unnoticed, and we were thoroughly impressed. Kudos to the events team! The foam parties were a lot of fun, with great music and a constant flow of good drinks. While there were a few downsides to our trip, they were mitigated by other factors. One of the cons was that the beaches could have been cleaner, as there was seaweed on the shores. However, the resort had cleaners come by every day to rake it away. Additionally, there was an earthquake during our stay, which may have contributed to the amount of seaweed in the mornings, especially since the resort is located in a cove. Another downside was that the resort didn't offer a view of the sunset. However, we enjoyed taking evening walks along the beach to the RIU side, where we could witness an incredible sunset. It's worth noting that the beaches in Jamaica are public, so you can walk along the entire stretch if you'd like. If you have difficulty walking long distances or if watching the sunset is important to you, this resort may not be the best choice, which is why I gave the location a 4-star rating. Overall, our stay at the Royalton Hideaway was amazing, and we would highly recommend it to couples, friends, and groups. The energy at the resort can be whatever you want it to be - fun, calm, or a party - as you can take it at your own pace.

The internet is terrible. The diamond club and the restaurants are not air conditioned, making them extremely hot and uncomfortable. However, everything else was excellent. I want to give a special mention to our butlers Okeen and Dwight, who were truly outstanding. They took care of all our needs and made us feel like VIPs. They were hardworking, dedicated, and always had a positive attitude. We will definitely miss them.

The Royalton resort was absolutely terrible. I don't even know where to start. We paid over $2500 to stay there and none of the promised amenities were provided. Construction was going on right outside our rooms throughout our entire trip. We encountered roaches and ants in both our room and the buffet area. Room service was either extremely slow, taking up to 2 hours, or never showed up at all. On the day we checked out, they took so long to bring our breakfast that we couldn't even eat before leaving, and they showed no sense of urgency or concern. Whenever we called to address any issues, the staff was incredibly rude and unapologetic. It seemed like our requests were ignored because we weren't part of the Diamond Club. We ended up leaving several of the restaurants because of the poor quality of food and service. For example, the Tex Mex concept was serving the Ocean point concept while we were there, and the "seafood bisque" I ordered turned out to be just one piece of calamari drenched in beef gravy, and it even had hair in my appetizers. The sushi rolls in the Japanese concept were mushy and made with mackerel and herring. If we didn't tip the same staff members every day, they completely ignored us or treated us with cold indifference. We only stayed at this resort because it was a family trip and we didn't have many other options. On the day of check out, when I filled out the survey, the receptionist simply threw it in the trash. I want a full refund and I will make sure to get it. I truly hope this place gets shut down.

The butlers at the Hideaway Diamond Club all inclusive room were absolutely amazing. We had access to a variety of restaurants and bars, all included in our package, and each one offered excellent food and service. Our honeymoon experience was nothing short of being treated like royalty.

The staff at this beach is absolutely amazing! Every interaction I had with them was positive. Maxine and Nicola, who are in management, went out of their way to accommodate my large group. The Entertainment staff and bar staff were so much fun! The food was excellent and our room was comfortable. I highly recommend this resort and I'm already looking forward to coming back!
