Takapuna beach is a top choice among Auckland's beaches, known for its long stretch of safe swimming areas during low tides. The picturesque surroundings include the nearby Rangitoto Island, and the newly built playground for kids is a hit with both locals and visitors. Conveniently located near Hurstmere Road, a popular shopping and dining destination, the beach can get crowded on weekends and evenings despite ample parking spaces. Overall, it comes highly recommended.
The beach was excellent, with easy access and stunning views.
The beach is fantastic for a leisurely stroll and has a wonderful playground that reminds me of the ones I used to play on as a child in New Zealand.
There are plenty of parking lots along the roadside near the beach, but they can get crowded on holidays, making it a bit difficult to find a spot! When we arrived at the entrance, we saw many customers and thought we might have to wait a while for a table. However, most of them were ordering takeout, and the staff warmly welcomed us and showed us to a table for dining in. Their gelato is also highly recommended! For our meal, we tried the Beef Croissant, Potato Benedict with salmon, Long Black, and Mocha. The Potato Benedict with salmon was the standout dish, with a crispy exterior and a delicious texture from being pan-fried and baked. Paired with the salmon, it was absolutely heavenly! After our meal, we took a leisurely stroll along Takapuna Beach, soaking up the sun, enjoying the sandy shore, and taking in the beautiful ocean view. It was incredibly relaxing!
This beach is nice and peaceful, but it gets busy around noon. There is a lovely playground nearby that is perfect for families. I would recommend checking it out.
