Unfortunately the beach has been closed for months. Luckily, we were informed by someone on Union Island before arriving, otherwise we would have been left with very limited options. I would recommend not booking a stay here unless you are certain they are open, as of November 2021 they are still closed.
The rooms were simple and clean, offering fantastic views of the water. The staff was extremely friendly. The food was pricey for its simplicity and often overcooked. This beach is perfect for kiteboarding enthusiasts, but may not be the best choice for those seeking a relaxing beach vacation.
This beach is a great spot to unwind and enjoy a drink, with delicious cocktails available. The dock is fantastic, and the rooms are basic but clean. It's conveniently located in the heart of everything. The only downside is the presence of nurse sharks in the lagoon, although I didn't see any during my visit. Hopefully, they have stopped keeping them there.
I really enjoy the pizza at Anchorage. The thin crust allows me to fully taste and enjoy the toppings without feeling overwhelmed by flour. My daughter is a huge fan of the live music and could dance all night if given the chance. The staff at Anchorage is also very impressive.
You are on a secluded island, so leave the fancy attire and small dogs at home. Just relax, be kind, and this place will reveal itself as the hidden gem that it is. The rooms are above average for a 3-star hotel in the US, and the staff is exceptional, always willing to fulfill your requests. The drinks at the bar are top-notch, but the food could use some improvement. I will definitely be returning to this hotel when I visit Union Island again.
