Towan Beach is at the heart of Newquay, one of the liveliest and most visited towns in Cornwall. Situated at the bottom of a steeply sloping hill, the beach is bordered to the west by the harbour and at the east by 'The Island' a towering rocky outcrop which is connected to the mainland by a suspension footbridge. A great place to relax. Clear water and the bottom is so shaped at the shore that it is impossible not to take off your clothes and jump in for a swim. Delicious food all around. Great atmosphere !!!
Amazing beach and great surfing lessons from SSS Surfing school! A lot of life in the bay, the children had spotted seals, jellyfish, and much more! All in all, it was a lovely day out with the family. Would definitely be one of our go-to beaches in Newquay. Tasty cornish pasties are available before heading down the slope too!
Towan Beach is situated in north West of Cornwall. It's boats a beautiful sandy shore and towering cliffs. The view from the cliff is breathtaking. Access to the beach is easy. Plenty of paid car parking spaces available in Newquay.
Towan Beach is a beautiful beach in Newquay. We popped down onto the beach with our dog so he could have a run around with the other dogs. We sat and watched people surfing (and trying to surf - at least try to stand up). The cafes and food outlets on the beach are plentiful!
Lovely beach! Very clean and a great place to read a book in the sun or even have some fun beach sports. When we went the beach was dry in the morning and the tide came in around 5 O,Clock so you’ll have plenty of time to walk on the beach and then go for a light swim later in the day. A great place to visit with family especially in the summer months!
