Upon arriving to this location I QUICKLY realized the parking lot is extremely small & limited on the water side. 💦 So I parked across the street in an unknown tiny lot and walked over. I was pleasantly surprised with the natural view of the water. There was a beautiful pavilion. Beautiful view. Gorgeous big willow tree overlooking the water. It was literally one of my favorite visits... Until... I realized the grass was completely coated in dog poops. Which I totally understand the location isn't responsible for poop but it was just overwhelming & unpleasant. Perhaps more signs encouraging people to pick up after their pets? There was a bathroom at the location. Which was amazing because I'm constantly traveling and constantly looking for easily accessible restrooms. I'm here to tell you this was the nicest bathroom I've ever seen at a local park. Period. I was happily surprised with the rest stop! Although I returned on a Sunday evening to watch the sunset and the restrooms were locked. So they must be only open during specific work hours which is understandable. There was a porta potty nearby for any kind of emergencies which was nice. The actual beach portion is very small I wouldn't recommend it for tanning or adults - but it is roped and safe for the kids. Something small they can just splash around in. Lastly I saw a sign for a splash pad being built which is exciting! Splash pads are great especially if they are enclosed for safety purposes because it is so close to the water. Overall this location is awesome I saw a birthday party going on which was great There was a fishing pier that I sat on and watched the sunset and it was breathtaking. Besides the poop which is the human's fault 😂 I love this park and we'll be back over and over and over and over again.
If you have little kids this is an amazing beach. It's not deep and you can watch your kids splash around. There was a splash pad being built last year hoping it's finished so we can check that out too.
The kids love this place...
Not a bad place to take kids to play, or even to have a picnic. Not much of a beach area. Only about 50 feet of a beachfront with sand. There is a playground in the sandy part of beach that would keep most kids entertained. In all, I would say this is more of a beach for tanning or build sand castles, not much of a swimming area at all.
Would not even let you use the bathroom having the keys from the restroom in their hand. It was before 6 pm, but the girl who works there said they were already closed and refused to open a restroom.
