I've been to this incredible hidden treasure for the second time now. The accommodation is quite satisfactory and comfortable, with nicely furnished and tidy rooms. There are some lovely additional features, such as a bed on the porch and a stone foot bath for washing off the sand from the beach. However, what truly stands out for us is the exceptional hospitality provided by the staff. Predi did an outstanding job making sure we were always at ease. The boat crew who took us on a deep sea fishing trip were superb and incredibly friendly. Menidi prepared the most incredible seafood meal for us. We will definitely return.

I went to this lodge with a friend in August 2019 and it turned out to be a hidden gem! Tess and Craig, who manage the place, were absolutely wonderful. They provided us with a variety of activities to enjoy during our stay. Craig's cooking skills are truly incredible and Tess is an amazing dive guide who is very knowledgeable about the dive sites in the area. The bungalows have comfortable beds and the overall atmosphere of the place is safe and peaceful. The excursions in the archipelago, such as kayaking in the mangrove, diving, and snorkeling, were absolutely amazing.

The service was excellent. The staff was professional and friendly, which was unexpected for a remote location like this. The lady who served our table used techniques that you would typically find in top restaurants in Lisbon, Paris, or London. We ordered grouper and a total of four different dishes, and everyone at our table was extremely satisfied with the quality and presentation. We were also grateful to Mr. Babu, the owner, who came to our table and spent a long time chatting with us. It was an amazing experience, and I highly recommend Kauri as the top place to stay and visit in Pemba.
