Schaalsee: 2 Strände in der Umgebung

A beautiful and idyllic swimming area located on a large natural lake right on the border between Mecklenburg and Schleswig-Holstein. Parking is available along the edge of the cobblestone street. Due to its location away from town but still with good transport links, this bathing area is popular with locals and rarely overcrowded. The expansive lawn offers both sunny and shady spots, complete with a picnic table and various benches. Unfortunately, the essential toilet facilities, previously provided by a mobile toilet, were not installed again this year, leading people to use the bushes for their needs. The lake features a gently sloping sandy shore, perfect for children to play, although the non-swimmer area is not marked. The water is very clear with excellent visibility, allowing for the observation of many small fish. Important to note: this is a purely unguarded swimming area, and the use of any watercraft, including stand-up paddleboards, is prohibited.
