The walk down to the beach is very enjoyable, secluded, and perfect for a refreshing swim after the walk. Walking to West Head beach or Great Mackerel beach and back to the car park makes for a lovely day trip.
The beach is absolutely stunning and the walk to get there is relatively easy. It's definitely worth making the trip to Ku-ring-gai to visit.
I was fortunate to visit this beach on a warm winter day during the week, so the trail was nearly empty in the late morning. It's a beautiful spot that serves as a reminder that despite living in a bustling city, we have national parks right at our fingertips where you can truly immerse yourself in nature. The Resolute Loop Trail starts at the carpark and takes you all the way to Resolute Beach, ending at West Head Lookout on the other side. If you begin at the carpark, you'll make your way to the lookout and then take a short walk back to the carpark after taking in the stunning views. Take your time, enjoy the day, and appreciate the fact that you have access to such amazing escapes that you can explore at your own pace.
The beach is beautiful with soft sand and clear, peaceful water. It's conveniently located near West Head Lookout - it would take a fit person about 20 to 30 minutes to walk there and back, without stopping at West Head Beach.
The beach is a bit of a trek to reach, with a steep descent and rocky terrain. There is minimal sand, mostly rocks, but it has a cozy and peaceful atmosphere. Keep in mind there are no facilities like bathrooms or trash bins, so be sure to pack out all your garbage.
